Seoul Kwangjang Elementary School is a public elementary school in Gwangjin-gu. It is located in Gwangjang-dong in Seoul, South Korea. The school was established on November 10, 1946. Hyungtae Kong was the founding principal.
This school has a long history. It has helped shape the lives of countless students. Seoul Kwangjang Elementary School has also undergone several changes throughout the years. In 1983, Guui National Elementary School was separated. Yangnam National Elementary School was separated in 1984. In 1987, Dongui National Elementary School was separated. Kwangnam National Elementary School was separated in 1990. Gunam Elementary School was separated in 1998. In 2005, Yangjin Elementary School was separated.
In 2009, the main building and the back building were rebuilt. An artificial lawn athletic field was created that year. The school also established a school park. Kim Hyun-sook became the 27th principal on September 1, 2016. As of March 2, 2020, there were 14 classes. This included six general classes, two special classes, and one special class.
Seoul Kwangjang Elementary School’s student body is diverse. In 2024, there were 163 male students and 117 female students. The student body totaled 280. There are 33 first-graders and 37 second-graders. The third grade has 51 students. Both the fourth grade and the sixth grade have 53 students. The fifth grade has 45 students.
The school also has a dedicated faculty. In 2024, there were 28 teachers. There were three male teachers and 25 female teachers. The faculty includes one principal and one vice-principal. There are nine head teachers, twelve general teachers, and two special teachers. One health teacher and one nutritionist also work at the school.
