This church, nestled in Sindaebang-dong, embodies a unique blend of history, faith, and community service. Saengmyeongsu Church wasn’t always here in Seoul. It started its journey in Busan as Myeongryeol Church. It transitioned to Goseon Church upon joining the Presbyterian denomination. In 1994, it made the move to Seoul and adopted its current name, Saengmyeongsu Church. The church continued to grow. In 1995, it affiliated with the Goseon Presbyterian Church. Pastor Yang Beom-sa became the head pastor in 1999. In 2012, Saengmyeongsu Church officially became a Gajung Church. Sunday services are a vibrant hub of activity. They hold a combined worship service at 10:40 a.m. Various other events and gatherings happen throughout the week. Saengmyeongsu Church also offers a variety of programs and ministries. These include worship services, discipleship training, missions, and community outreach programs. They offer morning worship services on Sundays and throughout the week. They also have evening services. They have educational programs like “Life Church School”, “Discipleship Training School,” and “Bible School.” These programs usually last a year with two sessions. They believe in providing a centralized, focused approach. They also emphasize practical training. They believe this kind of intensive training is a powerful way to strengthen faith and prepare members for leadership roles within the church.
