He graduated from Kosin University’s theology department. He furthered his studies. He attended the Graduate School of Theology M.Div. He completed a D.Min program. He finished it at Fuller Theological Seminary in the United States.
Before Bucheon Chodae Church Pastor Jeong served in various roles. He was a preaching pastor. He served as an associate pastor. These roles were at Busan Sajikdong Church. He also served at Changwon Gaeumjeong Church. He was an associate pastor at Nami Rejoice Church. He served as an associate pastor at Busan Hwanhee Church.
