From 1984 to 2000 Seoul Dongsan Church saw many changes. In 1984, twenty-two members founded the church. They appointed Pastor Kim Sang-jae. In 1987 Pastors Yoon Jong-kwon and Je Jeong-geon became elders. Later that year Pastor Kim Sang-jae resigned. He became a missionary in Austria. In 1987 Pastor Park Sung-bae became the second pastor. In 1993 Pastor Choi Sung-do took over.

In 1994 the church relocated. It moved to a building in Gwanyang-dong. The church then changed its name. It became the Presbyterian Church of Korea Dongsan Church. In 1997 they expanded the church building. They added a third floor.

In 1998 Pastor Choi Sung-do retired. He was honored as pastor emeritus. In 1998 Pastor Lee Sang-geol became the fourth pastor. In 1999 Jang Hong-bae became an elder. In 2000 Bang Jin-guk was appointed as an elder.

Seoul Dongsan Church faced challenges. It adapted to changing times. The church emphasizes discipleship. They want to train members. They aim to serve the church together.

Kim Jung-woo became the pastor in 2009. He emphasized both prayer and evangelism. Kim Do-hoon became the pastor in November 2023. He had previously served at other churches. He gained experience in youth ministry.

Seoul Dongsan Church aspires to be strong. It hopes to be a place of grace. It has a clear aim. They strive to nurture people and care for them.
