“A family-like community” That’s the vision of Namseoul Eunhye Church. This church dedicates itself to the Great Commandment of Christ’s love. It focuses on missions. It strives to glorify God as a disciple community.

We are standing before Namseoul Eunhye Church. This church is more than just a building. It is a vibrant community. It is deeply rooted in faith and service.

Namseoul Eunhye Church has a rich history. It began as a branch of Namseoul Church in Banpo. The first worship service was on January 12 1992. It took place in the auditorium of Joongdong High School. Eunhye Church, led by Pastor Young-gi Yoo, merged with Namseoul Joongdong Church. This happened on October 15 1995. They began their joint worship.

Namseoul Eunhye Church celebrated its 9th anniversary. This milestone was marked with various events. These included sports activities and food. There were also diverse programs at various locations. These locations included Millal Complex, Millal School and Insu Square. The celebration was a “festival of fellowship”.

The church strives for several goals. These include being a family-like community. It also aims to nurture holy disciples. Namseoul Eunhye Church also supports the disabled. They provide outreach to neighbors.

Yeondong Church also celebrated a milestone. It commemorated the 110th anniversary of its founding.

Pastor Hong Jung-gil leads Namseoul Eunhye Church. He emphasizes the gospel. He believes salvation is only through Jesus. He openly shared his views. He reflected on his 40 years as a pastor. He stated that his own ministry was a failure.

Namseoul Eunhye Church uses Millal School. This is a school for disabled children. They also constructed a music hall called “Ceramic Palace”.

The “Light of Life Chapel” is part of Namseoul Eunhye Church. It reflects the prayers of Pastor Lee Jang-geun. He is the chairman. It embodies the dreams of a young boy. This boy later became Professor Shin Hyung-cheol. It is also thanks to the prayers of Mrs. Jung Ok-rim. She is the mother of Chairman Lee Jang-geun. This chapel is a beautiful church building.

Shin Hyung-cheol designed the “Light of Life Chapel”. He was inspired during his travels. As a young man in his twenties, he visited France. He saw the “Rock Sang” Cathedral. He prayed that he too could build such a chapel for God. He later became a professor of architecture at Bezalel University. The chapel became his first work dedicated to God through prayer.

The chapel’s design emphasizes the “gravity of light”. The worship space covers 100 pyeong. There is also a 복도. It can accommodate 300 seats. There are also 100 studio seats for a total of 400 seats.

The church used 193 logs of red pine. This equals 100 tons. They also used 641 pieces of 천정, weighing 91 tons. The total weight of the wood is 191 tons. Sourcing the red pine was difficult. It is a nationally protected species in Russia.

The steel frame weighs 76 tons. 208 LED lights illuminate the space. Natural light enters through the 천정. The red pine is estimated to be 150-200 years old. Eight pillars are estimated to be 500-600 years old.

The chapel features several symbolic elements. Two pillars symbolize Boaz and Jachin. The cross is heated to symbolize the suffering of Jesus.

Namseoul Eunhye Church continues to thrive. It is a testament to faith. It is a beacon of hope in Seoul.
