Let’s journey back to 1972. Nambu Lutheran Church was established, marking a significant moment for the Lutheran community in Korea. Initially, it was known as Yeongdeungpo Lutheran Church, located in Sindaebang-dong. The church became a beacon of hope for the local community, drawing people from all walks of life.
The early years were not without their challenges. Despite the obstacles, the church flourished. It became a hub for spiritual growth and community outreach. In 1977, the congregation relocated to Daebang-dong, solidifying its presence in the area. This move marked a new chapter for Nambu Lutheran Church. The church continued to grow, attracting new members and expanding its ministries.
In 1980, Rev. Dorow took the helm, guiding the church through another period of transformation. His leadership left an indelible mark on the community. He nurtured a spirit of unity and service. Under Rev. Dorow’s guidance, the church’s influence extended beyond its walls. It actively engaged in social justice initiatives, becoming a force for positive change in society.
The church continued to grow, requiring further expansion. The present sanctuary, a modern structure with clean lines and ample space, was built in 2001.
