Its official inauguration as Geumbit Elementary took place on September 1, 1973. That same day, the school was assigned to the jurisdiction of the Icheon District Office of Education. A mere seven months later, the first 20 graduating classes proudly marked the school’s initial impact on the community. In 1996, the school underwent a name change, becoming the Geumbit Elementary School we know today.
