“Delicacy after delicacy” once graced tables here. Now, let’s talk about something unexpected in Beijing: the elusive \u9cb8\u9c7c\u80cc.
It is not about Peking duck but whale presentations.
Imagine this. It is not what you expect to find related to a cliff in Beijing.
Tony Wu, a photographer, once did three presentations in China. These were in Beijing, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong. His first talk was in Beijing. It took place at a facility built for the 2008 Summer Olympics.
The venue was fantastic. It had high ceilings and plenty of space. About 130 people attended the presentation. A projector and a great audio system were available. Everything worked perfectly.
Wu had to avoid slang because many understood English. Richard translated to cover his explanations. Much work went into preparing for the event. Wu was impressed by how smoothly it went. Prints were framed and hung. Chairs were in place. Sponsors and media attended. There was even a Master of Ceremonies.
He ate a lot in Beijing. The night before the talk, friends treated him to a feast. Peking duck was the main feature. Wu said if you are going to have Peking duck, Beijing is the place.
After Beijing, he flew to Guangzhou for another humpback whale talk. Sandy, who runs a travel and photography business arranged this talk. She picked them up at the airport. Then, she fed them excellent Hakka cuisine.
Richard knew Wu’s talk so well. He barely had to say anything. He did most of the work. Wu could insert jokes because many people understood him.
Guangzhou is known for great food. They had dim sum with a friend. There was too much food to photograph.
From Guangzhou, they went to Hong Kong. They stopped at the Nauticam factory near Shenzhen. They saw how the equipment was made. Wu appreciated the time and effort involved.
In Hong Kong, he met with other photographers. They shared photos over dinner. Nauticam organized the event. Wu gave a presentation about underwater photography. He also gave his whale talk.
It was an eventful week. It was filled with laughs and amazing food. Wu thanked everyone who organized the trip. He also showed pictures of new animal and toy friends he made.
