The Yuzhu Stabling Yard is located in Huangpu District. More specifically, it sits in Yuzhu Subdistrict near Huangpu Avenue East. Its strategic position is key to its function.
Did you know that during the construction of Line 5’s Yuzhu rail section land was set aside? This foresight ensured space for the current stabling yard. Due to space constraints the initial design featured only parking sheds. There was also a building for operational repairs.
Covering approximately 32,800 square meters the Yuzhu Stabling Yard has significant capacity. It includes eight parking and inspection lines. A single-row depot serves engineering vehicles.
In September 2023 the Yuzhu Stabling Yard passed its unit project acceptance. By November of the same year the substation within the yard was successfully energized. This milestone ensured a reliable power supply.
The Yuzhu Stabling Yard achieved further milestones in September 2024. It completed hot slip tests and “three-power” transfers. These tests are vital for operational readiness.
To the north the Yuzhu Stabling Yard adjoins Line 5’s Yuzhu rail section. To the south it borders the Shenyong Left Branch Canal. The Yuzhu Station connects to the yard on its southeast side.
The Yuzhu Stabling Yard ensures Guangzhou’s metro trains are ready. They undergo maintenance here. They are stored here ensuring the smooth flow of daily commutes. It is a silent giant supporting urban life.
