And you’d be right to ask – Takatsuki City Okusaka Elementary School stands quite near another school, Takatsuki City Juryo Elementary. This happened because of the construction boom around here. See, old Juryo Elementary was in a less desirable area, increasingly filled with mansions. To accommodate the shifting population, Okusaka Elementary was built in 1977, becoming Juryo’s “second school”. But don’t think Okusaka is any less special for being “second”! Each school developed its own identity, serving a slightly different slice of the local community. As you stand here, imagine the laughter of children at recess, the hurried goodbyes at the school gates each morning.
