The Xiangshan Museum of Founding of New China opened in 2019. It meticulously preserves this history. The museum’s design is clever. Twenty-eight pillars at the south gate represent the twenty-eight years from the CPC’s founding in 1921 to the PRC’s birth in 1949. The “Four Beams and Eight Pillars” structure on the second floor symbolizes the CPC’s collaboration with non-Communist parties in building New China.
Inside the Xiangshan Revolutionary Memorial Hall you’ll see a permanent exhibition. It’s called “Laying the Foundation for New China—The CPC Central Committee at Xiangshan”. This is the only large-scale exhibit comprehensively displaying this period. The exhibition is divided into five areas. Each covers aspects such as the move to Beiping “to take the test” arrival at Xiangshan commanding the war and the final preparations for the nation’s founding. Around 800 pictures and 1200 artifacts illustrate the struggle. Some highlights include vehicles used by the CPC Central Committee and guns from the founding ceremony.
