The Jingxi Ancient Road Museum might be small. But it effectively transports you back in time. You’ll see maps showing the road’s path through the hills. You’ll discover relics from the caravan days. The museum offers more than just historical artifacts. Just outside its entrance stands a piece of 1930s artillery and some ammo boxes. This isn’t a random display. It’s the entrance to a subterranean bunker. Built in 1968 on Lin Biao’s orders it was part of a network of military headquarters. The bunker is now a bar. It’s currently closed but soon it will reopen.
