“What defines an independent spirit?” That’s the question that comes to mind as we approach Tianfu College of SWUFE Chengdu campus east district.
Tianfu College of SWUFE stands as an independent college. It gained approval from the Ministry of Education. Its story began as the e-commerce college of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. This was in 2002. It started as an educational reform base. The location was Mianyang.
In 2006, Tianfu College of SWUFE sought independent status. The Ministry of Education approved this transformation. By 2011, the Chengdu campuses opened. They are located in Longtan. In 2018, the Deyang Campus welcomed students.
Tianfu College of SWUFE covers over 140 hectares. It offers over 60 courses. These include economics, management, engineering, and the arts. There are eight secondary colleges. These focus on accounting, finance, technology, and design. The college serves over 23,000 students. A staff of 1,200 supports them.
Tianfu College of SWUFE emphasizes practical skills. The college aims to cultivate innovative abilities in its students. It partners with Fortune 500 companies. Oracle and Maersk Logistics are among them. These collaborations bring real-world applications to the classroom. Students gain experience with e-commerce platforms.
The college has also earned recognition. It has been called one of China’s Most Independent Colleges. It also won the China Design Education Achievement Award.
Campuses connect by high-speed train. It only takes 40 minutes to travel between them.
