“What happened here in 1935?” you might ask. Today we are standing before \u8328\u6728\u5e02\u7acb\u7389\u5cf6\u5c0f\u5b66\u6821 in Osaka. This is not just any school. It is a place with a rich history dating back to the early Meiji era.

\u8328\u6728\u5e02\u7acb\u7389\u5cf6\u5c0f\u5b66\u6821’s story begins with two schools. These were the Mishima-gun Miyajima Jinjo Elementary School and the Mishima-gun Mizuki Jinjo Elementary School. These schools formed the foundation of what we see today.

In 1873,伴 with the introduction of the school system, the first school was established. It was known as the Third Little District First Elementary School in Shimamoto-gun. In 1877, the Fourth Elementary School in Shimamoto-gun was founded in Mizuki Village.

The Miyajima Jinjo Elementary School changed its name in 1889. It became the Miyajima Ordinary Elementary School in Mishima-gun. Mizuki Elementary School followed in 1893. It was renamed the Mizuki Ordinary Elementary School in Mishima-gun.

A significant event occurred in 1935. Miyajima Village and Mizuki Village merged to form 玉島 Village. Simultaneously, the two elementary schools combined. This merger created Mishima-gun 玉島 Elementary School.

\u8328\u6728\u5e02\u7acb\u7389\u5cf6\u5c0f\u5b66\u6821 has seen many changes. In April 1941, it was renamed 玉島 National School due to a national decree. The school adopted its current name in 1954. 玉島 Village merged into Ibaraki City at that time. It became Ibaraki City 玉島 Elementary School.

The post-war era brought growth. The number of children increased significantly. Three new elementary schools were created from 玉島 Elementary. These schools were 中津, East, and 萱原 Elementary Schools. They were separated between 1969 and 1974.

The school even has its own flag and song. These were established in April 1937. In February 1985, the school celebrated its 50th anniversary. A commemorative ceremony marked the occasion.

Today, \u8328\u6728\u5e02\u7acb\u7389\u5cf6\u5c0f\u5b66\u6821 continues to serve its community. It includes areas like Hoshimi-cho and Hirata. It also serves 玉島 and Noyagome. The school’s address is 玉島 2-chome 11-23. You can reach them at 072-632-3160.
