A hundred years of history roll by. This is the Beijing Classic Car Museum.

Established in 2009 this private museum is a testament to automotive passion. It’s the brainchild of collector Luo Wenyou. His lifelong fascination began in 1979. He purchased a Polish Warszawa car. Owning a car was a rare privilege then. Most people rode bicycles.

Mr Luo’s love grew. He competed in the Louis Vuitton Classic China Run. This race ignited his dream. He envisioned a museum showcasing vintage cars. He sold businesses. He poured his resources into this unique project.

The Beijing Classic Car Museum boasts over 100 vehicles. They represent a global automotive history. There are early Chinese cars like the Dongfanghong BJ 760. There are iconic models gifted to Mao Zedong. Even some of the world’s first automobiles are here.

Luo Wenyou has a special fondness for Hongqi cars. This is China’s first homegrown brand. He collected every model. He even has ambulances and convertibles. He recalls the excitement of the Classic China Run. People cheered as he drove a Hongqi. Foreigners were eager to experience it.

Building the museum wasn’t easy. His family initially supported him. However their support waned. Luo invested almost 700 million RMB. Maintaining these cars is expensive. Constant restoration is needed. Despite challenges Luo’s dedication prevails. He’s proud to share China’s automotive heritage. He shares his passion with the world.

The Beijing Classic Car Museum is more than a collection. It’s a living history lesson. It’s a symbol of perseverance. It’s a legacy of love for classic cars. Visit this remarkable place. Discover the stories within.
