Hidden in the northwest of Hubei province lies Zhuxi County. Its name Zhuxi County is derived from the Zhuxi River. This river flows through a landscape abundant with bamboo forests. In 1952 it moved to Xiangyang Prefecture. It returned to Yunyang Prefecture in 1965. Finally in 1994 it became part of the prefecture-level city of Shiyan. Its administrative divisions have also evolved. In 2010 Longba became a town. Bingying and Huiwan also gained town status in 2013.
