It’s a relatively small area, just 0.92 square kilometers. Yet, Zhujiang Street holds a population of over 60,000 permanent residents. Imagine the vibrant tapestry of life woven within this compact area. Zhujiang Street encompasses fourteen diverse communities, each contributing to its rich cultural fabric. These include Dongshajiao, Guangwutai, and Yuexiunan. Zhujiang Street is not just a residential area. It also houses important governmental and commercial entities. It’s home to the former site of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, a nationally protected cultural relic. Several other provincial and municipal-level protected sites are also within Zhujiang Street. These include the former site of the Guangdong Harbor Workers Committee and the former site of the CPC Guangdong District Committee. Beyond the official buildings, Zhujiang Street offers a vibrant cultural scene. The Bajing Museum, the Wu Zhao Buddhist Temple, and various public squares like the Aijiayuan Sports Ground and the Jiangwan Sports Ground provide spaces for recreation and community gatherings.
