“Imagine a school reachable by plane.” That’s not something you hear every day. Yet, it’s entirely true for Ikeda Municipal Ishibashi Minami Elementary School.
Welcome to Ikeda Municipal Ishibashi Minami Elementary School. This public elementary school is in Ikeda City Osaka. It stands near the border with Toyonaka City.
The school’s location is quite special. The school grounds were created by reclaiming Lake Calpis.
Ikeda Municipal Ishibashi Minami Elementary School opened in April 1972. Students from three other elementary schools were divided to form this school. These schools were Ikeda Municipal Kita Toyoshina Elementary School. Also Ikeda Municipal Ishibashi Elementary School. And Toyonaka Municipal Aoiike Elementary School. The children were in grades one through four. In December 1972 the school song was established.
In April 1978, Ikeda Municipal Ishibashi Junior High School opened. This changed which junior high school the students would attend. Students from Ishibashi 1 3 and 4-chome would now advance to the new junior high school.
The school is next to Ishibashi Station on the Hankyu Takarazuka Line. If you ride the Hankyu Takarazuka Line you can see the school from the window.
The school is surrounded by major transportation routes. These include National Route 171 and 176. Also the Chugoku Expressway and Hanshin Expressway Ikeda Line. Despite the heavy traffic the location is convenient. You can easily access trains buses planes and monorails.
The school is near Ishibashi shopping street. Students come from Osaka Kobe and Kyoto to use it.
Ikeda Municipal Ishibashi Minami Elementary School continues to educate children today. It has a rich history. It also has a unique location. The school is easily accessible. It stands as a testament to education.
