“What is the origin of this temple?” That’s the question many ask when they first see \u69c3\u82e5\u5bfa.
\u69c3\u82e5\u5bfa is located in 交野市. It is known as the 立正山. This temple offers burial services. It also offers perpetual memorial services. The temple welcomes people of all faiths to use its cemetery.
Let’s explore the history of \u69c3\u82e5\u5bfa.
Nichishu, the founder of \u69c3\u82e5\u5bfa, was a disciple of Nissho. Nissho was the 54th head priest of Kyoto’s Myokakuji Temple. He was also the 22nd宗門管長河合日辰聖人. At that time, \u69c3\u82e5\u5bfa was a branch temple of Myokakuji Temple. It was founded in 交野. The temple aimed to spread the teachings of 一乗円頓. It also aimed to lead people across the four seas. The mountain name “立正山” and the temple name “\u69c3\u82e5\u5bfa” were granted. The temple was built to promote the 法華 Sutra.
Later, Nichishin Yamada and Kakujo Hanabo Kiyoshi contributed to the temple. They helped build the foundation for its prosperity.
Nichishu had a close relationship with Nichidatsu Fujii of 日本山妙法寺. He taught the importance of propagation. In Heisei 18, the temple received 御仏舎利.
The temple is recognized as a prayer hall for 遠壽院 by Masachuzan Enjuin Daikatsugyo Dojo and Nisshin Todaishi.
\u69c3\u82e5\u5bfa offers various annual events. These include monthly 御命日 services and 水子供養 every month. 先師会 is held on the 13th of each month. 御守護神祭 for child rearing is on the 18th. お焚き上げ for供養 is on the 28th. 初祈祷会 is held on January 1st. 交野大黒祭 takes place from January 9th to 11th. 盂蘭盆会大祭 is on August 15th. 秋季彼岸会大祭 is on the day of the autumnal equinox. 交野仏舎利塔記念会 is on October 8th. 御会式 is in November. とんど is on December 28th. 祈念 for various needs is available anytime. New Year’s 元旦水行会 is on December 31st. 節分大祭豆まき is on the first Sunday of February. 釈尊降誕会 is on April 8th. 動物合同慰霊大祭 is in May.
\u69c3\u82e5\u5bfa houses several treasures. These include the 日蓮大聖人像 by 江里宗平. There is also the 鬼子母神尊神像 and the 北辰妙見大菩薩像. Other treasures include 日蓮大聖人御真筆一幅, 優陀那院日翃上人作 and 御本尊. 大覚大僧正正筆 and 法華経一巻 are also present. 正中山遠壽院伝師 and 日翃作多数 are part of the collection. You can also find 九識御本尊佐久間象山 and 横山大観. 河合日辰聖人 and 山田日真上人 are represented. 藤井日達上人 and 円山応挙 also have works here. 山下清 and 池田遊子 are featured too. 宏誓流庭常作庭園 completes the treasures.
The temple provides various services. These include 家内安全, 商売繁盛, and 当病平癒. It also offers 普請造作, 結婚式, and 交通安全 prayers. 事業繁栄, 業務安全, and 福徳倍増 are also available. The temple further provides 家祈祷, 開運招福, and 法難消除 services. 受験合格, 発育増進, and 地鎮祭 prayers are offered. 身体健全, 婚礼守護, and 試験合格 services are available. 家庭円満 and 心願成就 are also provided. 安産祈願, 方罪解除, and 寿命長久 prayers are included. 旅行安全, 厄除祈願, and 本年引越 services are offered. 子孫繁栄, 寿命長久, and 社運隆昌 are part of the services. 良縁成就 and 小児虫封 services are also available. 六三除 and 水子供養 complete the offerings.
\u69c3\u82e5\u5bfa also has a perpetual ossuary. It is known as 交野仏舎利塔.
The temple offers pet memorial services and cremation. Pets are considered family. The temple’s monks provide heartfelt memorial services. There is also a memorial service for pets. It is called 妙法動物霊. This service includes an opening ceremony and prayers. Pet cremations are handled by NPO法人hand in hand.
\u69c3\u82e5\u5bfa manages a cemetery in 交野. 入山料 is 20,000 yen per body. 永代使用料 is 350,000 yen per sanctuary. 管理費 ranges from 3,000 yen per section.
Nichimu Hannya serves as the current resident priest. He also serves as the chief director of NPO法人hand in hand.
