Established in 1973 by seven prominent clinicians, Morinomiya Medical College has a rich history. The college, right here in Osaka, has evolved significantly over the years. Originally named Osaka Acupuncture College, it became Morinomiya Medical College and Morinomiya College of Medical Arts and Sciences in 2000. Morinomiya Medical College has been dedicated to training specialized medical professionals. The college emphasizes hands-on, practical experience. Its motto, “Love and Tenderness for Life,” reflects its commitment to patient care. In 2007, Morinomiya University of Medical Sciences opened, further expanding the institution’s reach. This expansion included postgraduate programs and specialized departments like the Department of Occupational Therapy, Clinical Laboratory Science, and Assistive Sciences in 2016. Morinomiya Medical College has established several related facilities to enhance learning and community engagement. These include the Midorino Kaze Clinic and Midorino Kaze Acupuncture and Moxibustion Hospital. They also have an annex building, a daycare center called Midorino Kaze Nursery, and the Harimusume Museum. Morinomiya Medical College publishes “Tehamo” magazine, formerly “Acupuncture OSAKA.” This publication shares knowledge and promotes the college. The college also issues the seasonal free paper “Koko+kara” to increase its visibility and reach a wider audience. This paper features local restaurants and historical sites near JR Osaka Loop Line stations. Furthermore, Morinomiya Medical College has formed partnerships with other institutions. A notable example is its collaboration with Osaka University of Health and Sport Sciences, creating a double-school program for Athletic Training.
