\u677e\u702c\u9752\u3005 was born in 1869. His real name was Yasumaro. He significantly shaped Osaka’s haiku scene. \u677e\u702c\u9752\u3005 was a haiku poet during the Meiji and Showa periods.

Born in Osaka, he became a central figure in Kansai’s haiku circles. He launched the haiku magazine Takarabune in 1901. Later the name changed to Kentyo. He fostered many young talents.

Matsusei Seisei’s birthplace was in Kitahama 4-chome. This is where Mitsui Sumitomo Bank Osaka Main Branch stands today. He was born in Daikawacho. This area is now Kitahama in Chuo Ward.

His family ran a charcoal business. But \u677e\u702c\u9752\u3005 was more interested in literature. He excelled in haiku.

In 1897, he joined the Osaka Mangetsu Association. His poems appeared in newspapers. These included “Nihon” and “Hototogisu”. In 1899, he moved to Tokyo. He joined the editorial department of “Hototogisu”. However, he returned to Osaka the following year. He felt out of place in Tokyo.

Back in Osaka, he joined the Osaka Asahi Shimbun. He became a haiku selector. In 1901, he launched the haiku magazine Takarabune. Later it was renamed Kentyo.

\u677e\u702c\u9752\u3005 passed away in 1937. His work influenced many. His legacy remains significant in Osaka’s literary history.
