In 1899 the Kyoto Sericulture Training Center was established. Matsunaga became its first director. He also established a training center for women. He traveled to various sericulture training sessions. He aimed to improve sericulture techniques.

Sadly Matsunaga Gosaku died in 1908 at the age of 56. The \u677e\u6c38\u4f0d\u4f5c\u6c0f\u9855\u5f70\u7891 Stele tells of his achievements. The inscription praises Matsunaga as a leader and educator. Over 3000 people learned from him.
