The Higashiosaka City Hanazono Kita Elementary School opened its doors on April 1st, relieving the overcrowded Hanazono Elementary School. Now, as we stand before these gates, picture the first eager students, their satchels brimming with promise, entering this brand-new haven of learning. Higashiosaka City Hanazono Kita Elementary School isn’t just bricks and mortar. It’s a testament to community growth and a symbol of hope for future generations. The school embraces children from diverse backgrounds, nurturing their potential. Children from Hanazono Nishimachi 1-chome, Hanazono Higashimachi 1-chome (parts 1-8, 15-20), Hanazono Honmachi 1-chome, and Hanazono Honmachi 2-chome (parts 1-5, 13) all call Higashiosaka City Hanazono Kita Elementary their educational home. In 2018, six-year-olds embarked on a unique project. They explored the multifaceted nature of gender. They learned from diverse voices, including LGBTQ+ individuals and transgender people. This project culminated in a powerful poster exhibition. It was displayed in the local shopping street, sparking important conversations within the community.
