Imagine a temple roof so grand it resembles a farmer’s hat. That’s Myozenji Temple, a unique sight. Myozenji Temple is not just a place of worship. It is a window into the past. Today we will explore this special temple.

Myozenji Temple was founded in 1748. It became the main Buddhist sanctuary in Ogimachi village. This area is known for the Jodo Shinshu school of Buddhism. This “True Pure Land” school is popular here.

Local carpenters constructed it. The building has five stories. It is quite sturdy. Cypress and zelkova pillars support it.
