He gathered five newly baptized believers. Two members transferred from the Japanese Christian Church. This marked the beginning of the church. It was initially known as the Mebamotocho Church.

This makes \u65e5\u672c\u57fa\u7763\u6559\u6539\u9769\u6d3e\u5927\u962a\u6559\u4f1a one of Japan’s oldest Protestant churches. It has a rich heritage. It has evolved through different affiliations. Before the formation of the Japan Christian Church, it belonged to the Japan Union Christian Church.

The church’s current building dates back to 1922. William Merrell Vories designed it. It features a Romanesque style. The exterior has fland積みの磚瓦 tiles. A tower rises behind the sanctuary.

Restoration efforts were undertaken for half a year. This ensured structural integrity. The church was designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan in 1996. It coincided with amendments to cultural property laws.

In 2022, \u65e5\u672c\u57fa\u7763\u6559\u6539\u9769\u6d3e\u5927\u962a\u6559\u4f1a’s main building received further recognition. It became a designated tangible cultural property of Osaka Prefecture.

Today, \u65e5\u672c\u57fa\u7763\u6559\u6539\u9769\u6d3e\u5927\u962a\u6559\u4f1a continues to welcome people. It provides a place for worship and community. Its location is accessible. It is a five-minute walk from Hommachi Station on the Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line.
