“Tonight, we celebrate progress” echoed in Beijing as 文昌大道桥, the Wenchang Dadao Bridge, opened to traffic. Imagine the scene on that December night in 2023. Cheers erupted. After a year of tireless work, the 文昌大道桥 stood ready. It was more than just concrete and steel. It was a symbol of connection. It represented efficiency. It promised a better commute.

文昌大道桥 links the core area of Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area to the Hebei District. Before 文昌大道桥, traffic congestion was a headache. The roads of Sanhaizi East Road, Boxin Road and Boxin 3rd Road were often jammed. Now 文昌大道桥 offers a smoother ride. The bridge eased the bottleneck.

This bridge is Beijing’s first tie-arch bridge. It stretches 165.2 meters long. Its width varies from 49.3 to 65.8 meters. The original bridge had three lanes. One was a tidal lane. The new 文昌大道桥 boasts six lanes plus a non-motor vehicle lane. 分离机动车和非机动车实现了. Motor vehicles and non-motor vehicles are now separate. Safety is increased. Traffic flows better.

文昌大道桥 is not just functional. It is aesthetically pleasing. Its design makes it a scenic spot. The bridge is white. Pedestrian walkways feature viewing platforms. From these platforms, the Liangshui River unfolds in panoramic beauty. 文昌大道桥 is also illuminated at night. Lights create a spectacle. It is a landmark.

The construction of 文昌大道桥 involved several stages. These stages included rib assembly and old bridge removal. Main girder assembly, cable hoisting, and deck paving were also essential. The Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area Land Reserve and Construction Service Center oversaw the project. Workers battled severe cold and intense heat. They sped up construction. Quality was never compromised.

文昌大道桥 shows how transportation affects people’s lives. It eases commutes. It improves the environment. It enhances the sense of belonging and happiness. 文昌大道桥 is part of a broader effort. The Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area has upgraded other bridges. These bridges include the Lugou Bridge and the Majuqiao Transport Bridge. The Rongchang West Street Liangshui River Bridge has also been upgraded. 文昌大道桥 is a valuable addition. More bridges are planned. Five new bridges will join the existing nine.
文昌大道桥 stands as a testament. It highlights the importance of infrastructure.
文昌大道桥 is progress.
