Whispers of faith echo through the years at the Kangying Mosque. Here in the Sunhe township of the Chaoyang district, Beijing, stands a testament to devotion. The Kangying Mosque isn’t just a place of worship. It’s a story woven into the fabric of the city. The original Kangying Mosque, built in the 1980s, spanned nearly 2,000 square meters, with the building itself occupying 830 square meters. In 2005, a wave of renovations swept through the mosque, enhancing its facilities, including the heating system and ablution areas. The Chaoyang District Islamic Association also generously gifted air conditioning, ensuring comfort for all. Then, a rebirth. On July 18, 2007, a new Kangying Mosque emerged, showcasing the beauty of West Asian architecture. The inauguration ceremony was a grand affair, graced by prominent figures such as Haji Hilalunddin Chen Guangyuan, President of the Islamic Association of China, alongside local government officials. This new sanctuary can accommodate up to 300 worshippers. The Kangying Mosque provides a peaceful haven for both local and international Muslims living in the vicinity. It’s a place where prayers ascend and hearts find solace.
