This institution has a fascinating history. The \u5e7f\u897f\u5e08\u8303\u5927\u5b66\u9644\u5c5e\u5916\u56fd\u8bed\u5b66\u6821 was founded in 1984. It addressed the educational needs of faculty children. Guangxi Normal University relocated to the Sanlidian branch in the early 1980s. The area lacked infrastructure. This made education difficult for the university’s staff children. To solve this, the Guangxi Normal University established the Second Affiliated School. It was built on the former site of a Vietnamese school. Initially, it included primary and junior high sections.
The primary section moved away in 1987. In 1994, it was renamed Guangxi Normal University Affiliated Foreign Language Experimental Middle School. The school moved to the South Campus in 1996. In 2001, it became the Foreign Language School Attached to Guangxi Normal University. The school gained recognition as a “Demonstrative High School” in 2005. This was awarded by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Education Department. Between 2011 and 2013, the school relocated to the Tieshan campus.
In 2020, further changes occurred. Due to reforms, the Tieshan campus became Guilin Guolong Foreign Language School. Adhering to principles of preserving the school and its brand, it relocated. The school moved to the original Foreign Language Institute site. In 2024, the Yanshan campus construction was completed.
Covering nearly 240 acres the \u5e7f\u897f\u5e08\u8303\u5927\u5b66\u9644\u5c5e\u5916\u56fd\u8bed\u5b66\u6821 now includes junior high, senior high and international departments. About 5,000 students attend classes in its 86 teaching classes. Over 500 staff members work here. The school’s motto is “Broad learning and wide talent, Honesty and reaching people”.
