In 1974 \u57ce\u967d City West Junior High School opened. However student numbers continued to rise. By 1979 the situation demanded further action.

That is when \u5e02\u7acb\u5357\u57ce\u967d\u4e2d\u5b66\u6821 was founded. It became the third middle school in Joyo City. This division aimed to solve the issue of the ever growing student body at \u57ce\u967d Junior High. Before its opening the student count had reached 1697. It was bursting at the seams.

The school adopted a “school lunch center system”. This system ensures students receive nutritious meals. The lunch system is still in use today.

Interestingly \u5e02\u7acb\u5357\u57ce\u967d\u4e2d\u5b66\u6821 has a unique layout. Most schools in Joyo City have classrooms facing south and buildings that stretch east to west. \u5e02\u7acb\u5357\u57ce\u967d\u4e2d\u5b66\u6821 however is rotated 45 degrees eastward. This gives it a distinctive architectural footprint.

The school also embraces a motto. It values autonomy friendship and courtesy. These principles guide the students and staff.

The school has several notable milestones. In December 1979 the school flag was revealed. In March 1980 the school song was created.

Over the years \u5e02\u7acb\u5357\u57ce\u967d\u4e2d\u5b66\u6821 has undergone renovations. In May 1983 six classrooms were added to the south school building. Further expansion occurred in May 1986. In September 2001 large scale renovations improved the school’s structure. Earthquake resistance was also enhanced.

Facilities were upgraded. In March 1987 air conditioning was installed in the library. In 1999 Internet access was established. In August 2008 shower facilities were added.

\u5e02\u7acb\u5357\u57ce\u967d\u4e2d\u5b66\u6821 boasts impressive grounds. The total site area is 28155 square meters. The school ground itself covers 15674 square meters. These figures rank it among the largest schools in the city.
