“URL changed” flashes on a screen yet the story of Neyagawa City Mii Elementary School is more than a broken link. The school stands in Osaka Prefecture. It has a story of creation expansion and eventual merging.
Neyagawa City Mii Elementary School’s address is 3-7-3 Miigaoka Neyagawa City Osaka. Its phone number is 072-835-9297. This is a place where children learn and grow.
The school’s history involves both establishment and integration. In 1969 Neyagawa City Mii Elementary School opened. It was the 11th public elementary school in Neyagawa. This happened because of the Miigaoka housing complex construction.
Initially the school was small. But as the housing complex grew so did the school. More students meant a larger school. In 1975 part of Mii Elementary’s district became part of the new Kunimatsugaoka Elementary School.
Myotoku Elementary School also opened in 1972. It was the 18th public elementary school in Neyagawa. The name Myotoku came from a classic text. Student numbers grew and in 1981 part of Myotoku’s district went to Utani Elementary School.
As time passed both Mii and Myotoku saw fewer students. This was due to fewer children and an aging population. Neyagawa City decided to reorganize the schools. In 2005 Mii and Myotoku merged. Mii Elementary became the continuing school.
Mii Elementary has been involved in research. In 2003 it was designated a research school for elementary and junior high education by the Ministry of Education Science and Technology. The school focused on science information and English education. Also from 2006 Mii Elementary School worked with the Osaka Education Center on a project to improve science lessons. In 2007 it was designated as a research cooperation school for joint research on the use of experimental observation fusion type digital teaching materials. Furthermore in 2008 the National Institute for Educational Policy Research designated it as a research school.
The school district includes Miigaoka 1-4 chome and Myotoku 1-2 chome. It also includes Ikenotsuji and Narita Higashigaoka 21-29 and 38-44. Graduates attend Neyagawa City Tenth Junior High School.
Today Neyagawa City Mii Elementary School continues its mission. It provides education and a sense of community. The school’s story is one of growth change and adaptation. It stands as a testament to the evolving needs of its community.
