1947. A new beginning. Ichinomiya Municipal Shito East Junior High School opened its doors. Hear the echoes of those first students? They walked these grounds, full of dreams and uncertainty, just like any student since. Ichinomiya Municipal Shito East Junior High School stands as a testament to time, a witness to the changing landscape of Japan. It is nestled in the Shito area, in the northeastern part of Ichinomiya. This school isn’t just a building. It is a living story, etched into the heart of this city. Established on April 1, 1947, alongside the implementation of the School Education Law, Ichinomiya Municipal Shito East Junior High School is one of the oldest junior high schools in Ichinomiya. The school has seen its name change several times, reflecting the growth and evolution of the surrounding community. It started as Ichito Village Shito Junior High School. Later, it became Ichibora Village Shito Junior High School in 1955. Then, Ichibora Town Shito Junior High School in 1961. Finally, it adopted its current name on May 1, 1963. This journey through time mirrors the dynamic history of Ichinomiya itself. Imagine the boys of the summer of ’63, sporting black slacks with the “Shito” logo, and the girls in their blouses, skirts, and pale blue ribbons. Their uniforms, almost identical to those of other schools in Ichinomiya, made the school badge essential for telling them apart. Even today, separating students from different schools by their uniforms can be tricky. The school’s symbol, the Yamaboushi, adds a unique touch to the uniform and overall school identity. This quiet school, tucked away in Ichinomiya, has witnessed generations come and go. Their laughter, their dreams, their worries, they’ve all been woven into the fabric of Ichinomiya Municipal Shito East Junior High School. Their stories, though silent now, still whisper through the hallways. They remind us of the enduring power of education and the vibrant pulse of life within these walls.
