Stepping through time, let’s journey back to 1947. Imagine the post-war buzz in Mori, Osaka, as the school consolidation established the Kadoma Junior High School. This school is now known as the Mori Junior High School. It merged several village schools, including Niwaka Village. This laid the groundwork for what would eventually become the present-day Niwaka Junior High School. The actual Niwaka Junior High School, however, officially opened its doors on September 1, 1948. This makes it a landmark institution in Mori. The school quickly became a symbol of community and hope. It represents a fresh start amidst the challenges of rebuilding. The school song, composed in 1963 by poet Tsubahara Ichimatsu and composer Kawara Kenichi, echoes this spirit of resilience and aspiration. Over the years, Niwaka Junior High School witnessed significant growth. It became necessary to establish two separate schools to accommodate the increasing student population. These schools, Yagumo Junior High School and Kaji Junior High School, both trace their origins back to Niwaka Junior High School. They carry its legacy of academic excellence and community spirit. As you stand here, before the gates of Niwaka Junior High School, you’re not just looking at a building. You are witnessing a living testament to the enduring power of education. It has shaped generations of students. The school has continually adapted to meet the evolving needs of its community. From the reconstruction of the east gate in 2001 to the reinforcement of the gymnasium in 2009, Niwaka Junior High School continues to stand strong. A beacon of knowledge and opportunity.
