This 225-ton steel dome measuring 45 meters in diameter took over two hours to hoist into place. It ensures the reactor building’s integrity and leak-tightness. A crucial step in containing radioactive substances. Unit one’s hot functional tests were completed in September 2024. These tests simulate extreme temperatures and pressures ensuring the safety of the systems. It’s a complex process involving meticulous checks and simulations.
