Established in 1983 Osaka Toin High School stands proudly. It began as a branch of Osaka Sangyo University. The university needed more space. This was due to the increasing number of students seeking higher education. Initially Osaka Toin High School enrolled 150 students. They offered general courses and specialized sports programs. In 1988 it became independent from Osaka Sangyo University. A junior high school was added in 1995.
Osaka Toin High School’s basketball team is legendary. They achieved remarkable success. Their team was formed in 1988. In 1991 they won the 73rd National Summer High School Championship.
