Opened in 1914, the Osaka Prefectural Imamiya Technical High School stands before you. This institution has undergone many transformations throughout its history. It began as a branch of the Osaka Prefectural Vocational School. The school officially became the Osaka Prefectural Imamiya Vocational School in 1916. Night classes were added in 1918. During World War II, students were mobilized for war efforts. The school buildings suffered damage during the Osaka air raids. The Osaka Prefectural Imamiya Technical High School was established in 1948, following educational reforms. It offered both full-time and part-time programs. Full-time programs included electrical, mechanical, construction, and printing/graphic arts departments. Part-time programs initially offered similar industrial courses. Later, in 1996, general education subjects were added to the part-time curriculum. The school continued to evolve. In 2005, it was reorganized and renamed Osaka Prefectural Imamiya Science and Technology High School. The full-time courses were restructured into departments of mechanical systems, electrical systems, architectural systems, and graphic design systems. The part-time program became an integrated course. In 2014, a university preparatory course was added within the engineering department. Osaka Prefectural Imamiya Industrial High School officially closed in 2007. This school has a rich legacy of producing graduates. They have gone on to successful careers in various fields.
