After the war, in 1947, it transitioned into Osaka City Minami-kata Elementary School, following education reforms. The school moved to its current location in 1965. This memorial was erected in 1986 to remember the school’s history in this spot. The memorial’s inscription tells of the area’s development and the school’s relocation due to the construction of Shin-Osaka Station. This station transformed the area, leading to the school’s move 400 meters west. So, this unassuming stone memorial connects us to a rich past.
