From a schoolyard filled with the echoes of laughter and learning, we uncover the story of Osaka City Higashi-Nakazato Junior High School. Established on April 1, 1948, as Osaka City Kyokuto Third Junior High School, this institution has witnessed generations of students come and go. Imagine the excitement of those first 440 students, forming seven classes within the walls of the former Koryu Elementary School annex. Just a year later, on May 1, 1949, the school was renamed Osaka City Higashi-Nakazato Junior High School. The school continued to grow, adding an annex in September 1952. This annex eventually became its own independent entity, Osaka City Imagakure Junior High School, on April 1, 1953. Over the years, Higashi-Nakazato Junior High School evolved. A pool was completed in 1963, followed by a new gymnasium in 1978. The school’s history is etched in its very structure, from the north building constructed in 1969 to the completion of the east building in 1974. Did you know that two notable athletes walked these halls? Naoko Ishii, a Judo champion, and Hiromasa Matsui, a professional baseball player for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars, both attended Higashi-Nakazato Junior High School. The school serves the community, drawing students primarily from the Shimizu Elementary School and Shinmori-Koji Elementary School districts. Osaka City Higashi-Nakazato Junior High School isn’t just a building. It is a living testament to education, growth, and community spirit in the heart of Osaka.
