Osaka Jogakuin University has a rich history. It started as Wilmina Girls’ School in 1884. Later it became Osaka Jogakuin College in 1968. In 2004 it achieved university status.

Alexander D. Hail and J.B. Hail founded it. The university is affiliated with ACUCA. Ichiro Nishikori chairs the board. Eiko Kato serves as president.

In 2021 the university had 101 academic staff. It also had 776 students. The address is 2-26-54 Tamatsukuri Chūō-ku Osaka.

Osaka Jogakuin University offers several departments. One is the Department of International and English Interdisciplinary Studies. The university also has a graduate school. This is the Graduate School of International Collaboration in the 21st Century. It offers Master’s and Doctoral Courses of Peace Studies and Human Rights Studies.

The university’s campus has many trees. It is called “Wilmina no Mori” or Wilmina forest. In 1992 the campus received an award for its green spaces. In 2007 it received another award. It was for its beautiful urban landscape.

Hail Chapel is on the campus. William Merrell Vories designed it. It was built in 1951. In 2004 it received the BELCA award for its maintenance.

Osaka Jogakuin University has exchange programs. These are with universities in the USA South Korea Hong Kong and Taiwan.
