“Shopping spree or historical journey?” Both await at Shukugawa Green Place. This shopping center stands in Nishinomiya Hyogo Japan.
Shukugawa Green Place opened September 3 2021. JR West Urban Development manages it. The site has an interesting past. Once, a railway line ran here. After its closure, the Ashiya transformer substation was built in 1934. Later, company housing appeared.
The Ashiya transformer substation served even after JR was founded. However, part of the housing was demolished in 2011. The substation and power lines disappeared in 2018.
Kobe SC Development part of JR West Group built an open-air shopping center here. Now known as JR West Urban Development it created Shukugawa Green Place. It is the third in the Green Place series. Others are in Suita and Koshien-guchi.
On the south side, along Yamate Trunk Line, is another story. There, on the former power line site, is a farm. AgriMedia a venture company partly funded by JR West Group runs Share Batake.
Shukugawa Green Place aims to be more than just a shopping center. It wants to be a place for leisure. You can reach it via Sakuran Shukugawa Station or Ashiya Station.
The facility has 99 parking spaces. This makes it easy to visit. Shukugawa Green Place offers various shops and services. It aims to harmonize with the local environment. The open mall design does just that. Green spaces and park functions add to its appeal.
