“The light of the world from Suita to the world.” Does that sound ambitious? That’s the motto of Suita Bible Gospel Church. This church stands as a testament to faith. It is a vibrant community in Osaka. We are standing before a place with a unique story.

Suita Bible Gospel Church began humbly. Keita Takagi founded it in 1972. He started with a Bible study meeting. It was held in a rented room near Senriyama Station. Only two people attended initially.

The group slowly grew. When six people were regularly attending, Takagi rented a hall. This was in a public building near Senriyama Hankyu Station. More members joined over the years. The church needed its own building. The members prayed and searched for a place.

In 1982, they bought a former disco. It was near Kansai University and Kandaimae Hankyu Station. The building was remodeled. Services started in May 1982. Pastor Takagi became the full-time leader.

The church moved again in May 2000. This time, it was to Honami-cho near Suita Hankyu Station. Over 350 members were part of the congregation. Pastor Takagi faced a serious challenge. He was diagnosed with incurable cancer in 2001. He prepared the church for his passing. He organized for a new pastor. He passed on his vision. He reassured members that the church would continue. Takagi passed away in December 2001.

Today, Suita Bible Gospel Church thrives. It continues through Takagi’s vision. Church members spread the Gospel. They reach people in Suita and the Kansai area. The church aims to warmly welcome everyone. It hopes to share the Gospel. It teaches the Bible accurately.

The church building has five floors. It was once a factory site. The main hall has a soaring open space. A terrace seat is located on the second floor.

Suita Bible Gospel Church offers multiple weekly services. They hold five services. This allows people to attend based on their schedules. Each service presents the same content. On average, over 300 people attend each week. The church attracts people from various countries. These include Americans and Koreans. They use a translation system with headsets.

The church provides religious education. “Kohitsuji” is for young children. JS Club serves junior and senior high students. A baby-sitting service is available. It is offered during Sunday morning services.

Several pastors have served Suita Bible Gospel Church. These include Genhiko Yamaguchi and Yoshitaka Okamura. Also serving were Kohei Kabayama and Kiyoshi Iida. Pontga Castro serves as a missionary.

Suita Bible Gospel Church is accessible. It is close to Suita Station on the Hankyu Senri Line. JR Suita Station is also nearby. The Osaka Metro is also an option.

Suita Bible Gospel Church seeks to spread the Gospel. It wants to be a light to the world. It shares God’s message.
