In 1924, a need arose. Suita City’s children needed another school. Thus, Suita City Suita Daini Elementary School first opened its doors. It was originally known as Mishima District Suita Second Island Elementary School. The school was initially housed within Suita First Island Elementary School. Imagine the bustling hallways, shared by two schools under one roof! Soon, however, Suita City Suita Daini Elementary School moved into its own building on May 27th of the same year. This date is still celebrated as the school’s foundation day. Over the years, Suita City Suita Daini Elementary School has seen much growth. In 1931, it contributed to the establishment of Suita Third Elementary School. Later, in 1955 and 1969, it further expanded by helping create Yamade and Suita Minami Elementary Schools. Suita City Suita Daini Elementary School also served as an educational research school for two years, starting in 1995. This was under the direction of the Ministry of Education and the Suita City Board of Education. In 1998, the school continued to evolve by opening a special needs class. Today, Suita City Suita Daini Elementary School still stands as a pillar of education in Suita City. It serves children from Izumi-cho, Nishinosho-cho, and Kaneda-cho. It also serves the eastern half of Deguchi-cho. Graduates typically move on to Suita City Seventh Junior High School. The school’s location is convenient, just 800m west of Hankyu Suita Station and 1.4km east of Esaka Station.
