From a simple village school to a pillar of the Suita community, Suita City Futamatagawa Elementary School has witnessed a fascinating transformation. We stand before Suita City Futamatagawa Elementary School, a place that echoes with the laughter and learning of generations. Suita City Futamatagawa Elementary School opened its doors in 1931. Originally called Mishima-gun Futamatagawa Third Elementary School, it started humbly within the Futamatagawa First Elementary School. That July, the new school building was completed, marking a significant step in its journey. As the town of Futamatagawa merged with others to form Suita City in 1940, the school’s name changed accordingly, reflecting its growing connection to the city’s identity. The shift to Suita City Futamatagawa Third Elementary School mirrored this evolution. The school embraced further transformation with the national educational reforms of 1947, becoming Suita City Futamatagawa Elementary School. This name solidified its place as a key educational institution in Suita. In 1951, a new school song was composed, adding a unique melody to the school’s atmosphere. 1964 saw the integration of Suita City Futamatagawa Third Kindergarten within the school grounds, fostering a close bond between the two. The school’s history is intertwined with the community. A notable event was a lecture by physicist and alumna Fumiko Yonezawa in 2005, inspiring young minds and strengthening the school’s ties to its accomplished alumni.
