“Did you know that this school started because another one was too crowded?” Today we are standing before Suita City Saidera Elementary School. It is located in Osaka. This school is more than just a place of learning. It embodies a response to community needs. It is a testament to Suita City’s commitment to education.

Suita City Saidera Elementary School began its journey in 1983. The Suita City Senri Daini Elementary School was overcrowded. To alleviate this problem construction began at this location. Suita City Saidera Elementary School became the city’s 36th elementary school.

The first entrance ceremony was held on April 7, 1983. The first PTA general meeting established the PTA. The school badge was created in July 1983. The first athletic meet took place in October 1983. A dedication ceremony marked the school’s opening in November 1983. November 22nd was designated as Foundation Day.

In February 1986, the first expansion project was completed. This added five classrooms and an arts and crafts room. In November 1992, a ceremony celebrated the school’s 10th anniversary. In March 1993, the Arinko Hodobashi Bridge was completed.

Fast forward to October 1995. Young teachers from various African countries visited Suita City Saidera Elementary School for educational exchange. In February 1996, a second expansion added six classrooms. It also added a library and computer room. In April 1996, the school was designated for educational research. This was by the Osaka Prefectural Board of Education.

In 1999, Suita City Saidera Elementary School was designated as a research school for information education. In 2003, school districts were modified. The school district was reduced. Parts of Saidera 4-chome went to Saitake Elementary School.

In May 2007, an aerial photo commemorated the 25th anniversary. In April 2012, an elevator for students with disabilities was installed. In October 2012, a biotope was created in the courtyard. In December 2012, a 30th-anniversary ceremony was held.

Saidera Elementary School serves specific areas. These include Saidera 1-chome through 3-chome. They also include Takeya and Saidera Minamigaoka. Graduates typically advance to Suita City Saidera Junior High School.

Suita City Saidera Elementary School stands as a pillar of its community. It provides a nurturing environment for children’s growth. It prepares them for the future. It all started to relieve overcrowding. Today it thrives as a vital educational institution.
