Founded in 1999 Geely College boasts a remarkable history. Initially based in Beijing it was known as Beijing Geely University. A significant chapter unfolded in 2014. General Secretary Xi Jinping’s vision for coordinated development in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region prompted a relocation. Geely College heeded the call.
The college sought to move its non-capital core functions. It actively pursued relocation to Chengdu. This ambitious plan received strong backing. The Ministry of Education played a crucial role. So did Beijing Sichuan Province Chengdu and Peking University. On March 30 2020 the move was complete. Beijing Geely College became Geely College Chengdu.
