Kusano Elementary School. A place where laughter mingles with the rustling of leaves. We stand before Chiba Shiritsu Kusano Elementary School. Imagine the energy of children playing within these walls. Kusano Elementary first opened its doors on April 1, 1973. It was established as a separate entity from Ayamedai Elementary School. 1973 was a significant year for Chiba City. Eleven new elementary schools were founded. Kusano Elementary isn’t just a school. It’s a vibrant part of this community. The school is nestled next to the Chiba Vision Sports Center and Kusano Junior High School. Within the school grounds, you’ll find a gymnasium, an indoor exercise area, a pool, and a children’s room. These children’s rooms, or “Kodomo Rooms” as they are known locally, are a popular childcare feature in Chiba City. Kusano Elementary underwent seismic reinforcement of its gymnasium in 2012. The project was completed on January 25, 2013, ensuring the safety of the students. The school’s motto embodies its dedication to holistic education. “The development of well-rounded children with a balance of knowledge, virtue, and physical strength” guides their approach. Their educational methods focus on fostering a love of learning. They promote kindness, respect, and a strong sense of community. Teachers encourage children to express their joyful smiles, fostering a positive and nurturing environment. Kusano Elementary’s school song, written by Zensho Yoshi and composed by Tadakazu Ueno, further reinforces these values. Ueno is renowned for composing children’s songs. His work is well-loved throughout Japan. As we leave Kusano Elementary School, let’s carry with us the echo of children’s laughter.
