1997. A new school emerged, breathing life into Chiba City’s Midorigoku district. Chiba City Asumigaoka Elementary School, affectionately known as “Asumigaoka Elementary,” opened its doors to eager students. This wasn’t just another school. It was a response to the growing community, built to ensure appropriate class sizes for both Tsuchiminami and Ooe elementary schools. The school’s motto, “fostering creative minds and kind hearts,” became the guiding principle for nurturing young learners. Asumigaoka Elementary wasn’t built overnight. It evolved. In 1998, the school earned recognition for its dedication to education, receiving the Sony Education Foundation Award. Just a couple of years later, in 2000, Asumigaoka Elementary was designated a “Fureai Educational Promotion School” by the local community, further solidifying its role in enriching young lives. In 2006, the school expanded its reach by becoming a “Collaboration School District for Promoting Volunteer Activities”. This initiative fostered a spirit of community involvement, creating opportunities for students to connect with the world beyond the classroom walls. Asumigaoka Elementary isn’t just a place of learning. It’s a testament to the community’s commitment to providing a quality education for its children. The school serves a specific geographic area, encompassing addresses within Midorigoku, Asumigaoka, including 6-chome from 1 to 41, 7-chome from 1 to 21, 8-chome from 1 to 19, along with Asumigaoka East 3, 4, and 5-chome. Parts of Kogezutsu-cho also fall under the school’s district. Reaching Asumigaoka Elementary is a journey in itself. From the JR Sotobo Line, visitors can disembark at Tsuchiya Station. From there, bus number 2 will take you to Asumigaoka Plaza. A short three-minute walk from the bus stop will bring you to the school’s entrance. If you’re traveling by car from Chiba City, follow the Oami Kaido towards Tsuchiya. Look for the Asumigaoka entrance sign. Turn right at the Asumigaoka 5-chome intersection. Then, take a left at the Sozo-no-Oka intersection. Finally, turn right at Asumigaoka Plaza to arrive at the school. Asumigaoka Elementary School stands proudly in its neighborhood.
