The Yao Municipal General Gymnasium is a key sports and event venue. It stands proudly in Osaka Prefecture. This facility hosts various sporting events. It also holds diverse events for the community.

The main arena covers 2,063 square meters. It can hold 2,013 people. This includes fixed seating and movable seats. There are also wheelchair spaces. The main arena hosts indoor competitions and ceremonies.

There is also a sub-arena. This area measures 735 square meters. It does not have spectator seating. But you can view it from the second floor. The sub-arena also hosts indoor competitions.

Beyond the arenas, Yao Municipal General Gymnasium offers martial arts spaces. There are two martial arts halls. An archery range is available as well. Meeting rooms can accommodate 117 people. These rooms host meetings, training sessions, and lectures. A training room holds 48 people. It is used for similar events.

“Wing Fitness” is also located within the gymnasium. The first floor entrance hall has offices and a reception counter. The lobby features a coffee corner and conversation area.

Getting here is easy. You can take the Kintetsu Osaka Line. Get off at Kawachi-Yamamoto Station or Takayasu Station. From either station, it is a 15-minute walk. Alternatively, take the Osaka Bus. Get off at the Yao General Gymnasium bus stop.

Yao Municipal General Gymnasium is open from 9 am to 9 pm. It is closed every Tuesday. It is also closed during the New Year holidays. These holidays run from December 30 to January 4. The gymnasium might close temporarily. This is for facility maintenance.

There is parking for 196 cars. Parking costs 300 yen for three hours. After that, it is 100 yen for every 30 minutes. Parking is free if you leave within 30 minutes.

Near the gymnasium, you will find other facilities. These include the Yao Municipal Senior Citizen’s Home “Kokoromi-kan”. Also nearby are the Osaka Ballet Academy and Yao Tokushukai General Hospital. There are also several schools in the vicinity.
