Even though his lineage faced years of being disregarded during the turbulent Nanbokuchō Dispute, Sadafusa’s legacy was secured when his son, Hikohito, ascended to the throne as Emperor Go-Hanazono in 1428. This pivotal moment brought an end to the internal strife within the Northern Court, cementing Sadafusa and the Fushiminomiya line in the annals of Japanese history.
