Weigui Guang and others fought back. They killed several British soldiers. News of this act spread like wildfire. People from 103 nearby villages united. They formed an armed force. They were determined to defend their homeland.

On the morning of May 30th thousands of volunteers advanced. They approached the British headquarters at Sifang Fort. They lured the enemy to Niulan Hill. After a day of intense fighting the people triumphed. They killed over 200 British soldiers. The \u4e09\u5143\u91cc\u6297\u82f1\u6597\u4e89\u7eaa\u5ff8\u7891 Obelisk immortalizes this victory.

The \u4e09\u5143\u91cc\u6297\u82f1\u6597\u4e89\u7eaa\u5ff5\u7891 Obelisk’s inscription reads “The martyrs who fought against British imperialism. Their sacrifices will be remembered forever”. The surrounding Sanyuanli Anti-British Memorial Park covers 11265 square meters. It offers a space for reflection.

Nearby stands the Sanyuanli Anti-British Struggle History Museum. It was once the Sanyuan Temple. Villagers gathered here in 1841 to plan their resistance. They swore an oath before the Beidi statue. They used the Three Stars flag as their banner.

Inside the museum you can see artifacts. There are weapons and captured British uniforms. The museum systematically presents the history of the Sanyuanli people’s struggle.
