“Where Dreams Take Shape” is not just a tagline. It is the story of Singapore’s presence at the Osaka World Expo. The シンガポール館 in Osaka marks a unique chapter. It highlights Singapore’s journey from its first Expo appearance in Osaka in 1970 to its return in 2025.

Singapore has always been a firm supporter of the World Expo. Osaka will host this event from April 13 to October 13, 2025. The Expo anticipates millions of visitors. This includes many from abroad. The theme is “Designing Future Society For Our Lives”.

The シンガポール館 is a vibrant red sphere. It is named the Dream Sphere. It sits on a 900 sq m plot. The sphere’s diameter is 18.5m. It stands 17m tall. That is about seven stories high.

Singapore broke ground first. Construction of its $36 million pavilion began early. The Dream Sphere’s design is unorthodox. Its shape and color remind some Japanese people of the ume or Japanese plum. This creates a deeper connection between the people of Singapore and Japan.

Seah Chee Huang is the CEO of DP Architects. He noted that both countries share national colors. These are white and red. The convergence is magical. It is also coincidental.

The シンガポール館 is built on the 4Rs: renew, reuse, reduce, and recycle. Its components can be easily disassembled after the Expo. They can then be recycled or reused. The facade comprises over 20000 discs. These are made of recycled aluminum. This saves an estimated 104 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. That is the equivalent of 4100 trees absorbing CO2 annually.

Kingsmen Exhibits is directed by Anthony Chong. He said they will celebrate Singapore’s achievements. They also celebrate aspirations and people with the Singapore pavilion. Dreams are the catalyst for progress.

The シンガポール館 will showcase food, culture, arts and innovation. It aims to inspire visitors. It invites them to explore the infinite possibilities of dreams. The red sphere is inspired by the Little Red Dot moniker. The production team of DP Architects and Kingsmen Exhibits hopes to showcase the collective spirit behind the Singapore Story. It is told through Singapore food and heritage.

The Dream Sphere is more than just a structure. It embodies Singapore’s spirit. It reflects the nation’s dreams and aspirations. It also shows its commitment to a sustainable future. The シンガポール館 will leave a lasting impression. It highlights the power of dreams. It also highlights international collaboration.
